Map for Impact was commissioned by the Victorian Government DEDJTR (now DJPR) as part of the Victorian Government’s Social Enterprise Strategy 2017.
Professor Jo Barraket and Dr Erin Castellas, both of the Centre for Social Impact at Swinburne University of Technology, were the project lead and project manager, respectively.
Map for Impact produced:
- A searchable map of social enterprises across metropolitan and regional areas of Victoria;
- A database of Victorian social enterprises and intermediaries including the names, ABN and contact details of organisations, provided to the DEDJTR to support its engagement of the sector; and
- A report that describes the organisational characteristics, activities and impacts of Victoria’s social enterprises—including age, size, diversity of management, social purpose, performance measurement practices, and economic and social impacts.
The Centre for Social Impact completed the project in November 2017. Map for Impact is no longer taking applications from social enterprises to be listed on the Map. The original research report and the final Map at the conclusion of the project are both available as point-in-time snapshots of Victoria’s social enterprise sector. If you would like your social enterprise to be listed on a publicly-accessible database, please contact Social Traders.
Please contact Social Traders to become a certified social enterprise or to access their public list of certified social enterprises; and/or SENVIC to join their directory of social enterprise members.
